Senior Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician
Location: Fylde Autocare & UKDPF, Blackpool
Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 DOE (Negotiable for the right candidate)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (No weekends)

Fylde Autocare is an established independent garage specialising in servicing, repairs, diagnostics and DPF fault finding. We pride ourselves on doing things properly, investing in the right equipment and giving our technicians the support they need to produce quality work.
We're looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our growing team. This role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in their work and is looking for a long-term opportunity in a modern, well-equipped independent workshop.
The Role
This is a hands-on workshop role where you'll be carrying out a varied mix of servicing, repairs, diagnostics and fault finding across a wide range of vehicles. No two days are the same.
As your confidence in our workshop grows, you'll also have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities, including:
- Diagnosing more complex vehicle faults.
- Supporting other technicians with technical guidance when required.
- Assisting with workshop job planning and repair times.
- Carrying out road tests and quality checks.
- Speaking with customers on more technical repairs where required.
Previous leadership experience would be an advantage, but it certainly isn't essential. We're looking for someone who's happy to take on more responsibility over time rather than someone who expects to manage from day one.
Experience with DPF systems would be highly desirable, although full training on our specialist processes will be provided.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has solid mechanical experience and can work confidently on their own.
- Has good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Is organised, practical and able to think logically.
- Takes pride in completing repairs to a high standard.
- Understands how a busy independent workshop operates.
- Is willing to support colleagues and share knowledge.
- Enjoys learning and developing as vehicle technology evolves.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
Formal qualifications are welcome but not essential. For us, experience, attitude and ability are more important than certificates.
