Responsibilities
- Offer daily care and emotional support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Develop and implement personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs, goals, and circumstances
- Engage children in educational, recreational, and social activities that promote growth and development
- Maintain clear, open communication with children, colleagues, families, and external professionals to coordinate care effectively
- Support children with daily routines such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and bedtime routines
- Assist with transportation needs, including driving children to appointments or activities when required
- Monitor progress and document observations accurately to inform ongoing care strategies
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or young people in a childcare or support setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to connect effectively with children, families, and team members
- Knowledge of creating and following care plans tailored to individual needs
- Experience and knowledge of using therapeutic trauma informed models such as PACE
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience, resilience, and a proactive mindset
