Job title: Paint Shop Operative
Location: Letchworth, Hertfordshire
Terms: Permanent (Full-time)
Salary/rate: 25 Days paid holiday + bank holidays
Working Hours: 40-hour week, Monday – Friday (8:00am – 4:30pm). Option of finish at lunchtime on Friday if hours are achieved
About us: Stevenage sheet metal manufactures high quality engineered parts to a variety of industries from pharmaceutical through to automotive. SSM has over 50 years of experience within manufacturing and specialises in sheet metal laser cutting, fabrication and welding.
About the role: Individual will use various painting techniques that will include but are not limited to powder coat, wet paint spraying and other techniques on various materials. Material surface preparation such as cleaning and masking, among other techniques in accordance with customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
· Material preparation
· Operate all coating equipment including guns, and powder reclaiming system
· Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspection on finished articles
· Bake parts at appropriate temperatures in accordance to defined procedures
· Ensure all jobs are complete on time and to the desired quality
· Ensure all quality standards and safety guidelines are adhered to throughout the facility
· Cleaning and maintenance of equipment
Candidate requirements:
· Strong background in powder coating and industrial painting
· High attention to detail
· Must be able to read and mask parts from drawings
· Ability to work independently without daily supervision
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment
· 3 Years experience required
Pay: £14.50-£15.00 per hour
