Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting children in a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment following the school day. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare and education, with the ability to foster a positive atmosphere for children aged 3 to 11 years. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in childcare, teaching, and organisation while making a meaningful difference in young lives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Organise and facilitate engaging activities, including arts and crafts, games, and educational exercises
- Support children with their homework and learning tasks as needed
- Assist with snack preparation and mealtime supervision
- Maintain a clean and organised environment within the club area
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress or concerns
- Support children with behavioural management in accordance with organisational policies
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Prior experience in childcare, teaching, nannying, or similar roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when necessary
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is a plus but not mandatory
- Experience working with children of primary school age is advantageous
- A caring attitude, patience, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
