We are a community-focused organisation working in partnership with primary schools to provide high-quality sports, physical activity and enrichment programmes for children.
We currently support schools by delivering a range of activities, including:
- Breakfast clubs
- Lunchtime sports clubs
- After-school clubs
- Physical education and sports programmes
- Holiday activities and community programmes
- Sports coaching and enrichment activities
We are now looking to work with an experienced Bid Writer / Funding Application Specialist who can help us identify suitable funding opportunities and prepare high-quality funding applications on behalf of our charitable trust and partner schools.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced professional who understands the UK funding landscape and has a proven track record of successfully securing grants and funding for charities, community organisations, schools, children and young people.
Your role will be to identify relevant funding opportunities and develop strong, professional applications that demonstrate how funding can support children and families within local communities.
Successful funding applications could enable us to continue delivering our existing programmes in schools and expand our provision to more children.
The funding may support areas such as:
- Sports and physical activity
- Breakfast clubs
- Lunchtime clubs
- After-school clubs
- Children's health and wellbeing
- Physical activity and healthy lifestyles
- Holiday activities
- Inclusion and participation
- Community engagement
- Supporting disadvantaged children and families
- Improving children's access to sport and enrichment activities
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Researching and identifying suitable grant and funding opportunities
- Assessing eligibility criteria and matching funding opportunities to our programmes
- Writing high-quality, persuasive funding applications
- Preparing funding proposals on behalf of our charitable trust and, where appropriate, supporting applications in partnership with schools
- Developing clear project descriptions, budgets, outcomes and impact statements
- Working with our team to gather the information required for applications
- Ensuring applications clearly demonstrate the benefit to children, schools and local communities
- Managing application deadlines and submission processes
- Keeping accurate records of applications and outcomes
- Providing advice on how our existing programmes can be developed to meet funders' priorities
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Bid Writer / Grant Writer with demonstrable experience of successfully securing funding.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience writing successful grant and funding applications
- Strong knowledge of UK charitable, community and education funding
- Experience working with charities, schools, community organisations or children's services
- Excellent written communication skills
- The ability to understand funders' requirements and tailor applications accordingly
- Experience developing project budgets and measuring outcomes
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and community impact
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple funding opportunities
- A track record of successful funding applications is essential
No Win, No Fee Arrangement
This role will be offered on a genuine no-win, no-fee basis.
There will be no upfront payment for researching or preparing applications. The successful candidate will only receive an agreed fee or commission when funding has been successfully awarded and secured.
The exact fee structure will be agreed in advance and will depend on the size and nature of the funding secured.
