Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Wood Floor Fitter to join our team. Driving license and own vehicle preferred. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining wooden flooring in a variety of residential and commercial settings. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The ideal applicant will have a strong background in construction and carpentry, with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and install wooden flooring according to project specifications and schematics
- Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and ensuring surfaces are ready for installation
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during installation and repair tasks
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and instructions to ensure precise fitting
- Apply finishing techniques such as sanding, staining, or sealing to achieve desired aesthetic results
- Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
- Conduct routine inspections of installed flooring to identify issues or defects needing correction
Requirements
- Proven experience as a wood floor fitter or in a similar construction role specialising in flooring installation
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, schematics, and construction painting is desirable
- Proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, hammers, saws, as well as power tools including drills and sanders
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good physical condition with the capacity to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces for extended periods
- Awareness of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites
- Previous experience working with construction painting or finishing techniques is advantageous

Pay: £24,420.00-£52,860.14 per year
