Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and measuring spices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management as needed.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations to ensure the health and safety of all patrons.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Help train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and kitchen protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse team.
