About the role
1st Choice Inventories is a growing property inventory business looking for a reliable, professional and highly observant Inventory Clerk to join our team.
This is an employed position with 1st Choice Inventories, not a self-employed or subcontractor role.
You’ll be part of a wider team, while also being heavily relied upon to manage your own appointments and workload to a high standard.
This is an important field-based role representing the business directly with letting agents, landlords and tenants. We’re looking for someone dependable, organised and confident working independently.
No two days are exactly the same, and the role would suit someone who enjoys being out and about rather than working from one fixed location.
What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out detailed property inventories
- Completing check-in and check-out inspections
- Taking clear and comprehensive photographs
- Accurately recording property condition, cleanliness and defects
- Producing professional inventory reports
- Liaising with letting agents, landlords and tenants
- Managing your own appointments and travel throughout the day
- Working closely with the wider 1st Choice Inventories team
What we’re looking for
You’ll need an excellent eye for detail and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
The right person will be:
- Reliable and punctual
- Highly organised
- Naturally observant and thorough
- Comfortable working independently
- Professional and confident when dealing with clients and tenants
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets and digital systems
- Able to take responsibility for their own workload
- Happy undertaking significant amounts of driving
Previous property inventory experience would be beneficial, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
Driving and travel
Driving is a significant part of this role.
The position is based around Swindon and Wiltshire, with regular travel across the wider region and surrounding counties.
Some days may involve significant driving between appointments, so applicants should be comfortable spending time on the road.
Applicants must have:
- A full UK driving licence
- Their own reliable vehicle
- Appropriate business-use insurance
- A willingness to travel throughout the wider operating area when required
Business mileage is paid separately in addition to your monthly pay.
Working hours
15 hours per week:
- Monday: 9am–5pm
- Thursday: 9am–5pm
Some flexibility may occasionally be required depending on appointments and travel.
