We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Service Manager to lead our team , a specialized service supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and complex behavioral needs.
While we welcome strong social care managers, a registered nursing qualification (RMN or RNLD) is highly preferred for this role to help drive our clinical and behavioral standards.
The Role
As the Service Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the operational and clinical success of Malcolm House. You won't just manage a service; you will shape an environment where individuals thrive, ensuring the support delivered is safe, evidence-based, and deeply respectful of each person's unique needs.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Leadership & Culture: Inspiring, mentoring, and developing a skilled team of support workers and team leaders to deliver exceptional, clinically sound care.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensuring the service meets and exceeds all CQC (Care Quality Commission) regulations and internal quality standards.
- Complex Behavior Management: Overseeing the implementation of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) frameworks and utilizing clinical insights to reduce restrictions and improve quality of life.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with families, social workers, health professionals, and commissioners to provide cohesive, multidisciplinary care.
- Resource Management: Overseeing service budgets, rota planning, and safe staff-to-individual ratios.
About You
This role requires a unique blend of professional expertise, leadership, and deep empathy. You are someone who sees the person behind the behavior and thrives on turning challenging situations into positive outcomes.
To be successful, you will need:
- Qualifications: A current RMN or RNLD registration with a valid NMC pin is highly preferred. Alternatively, a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care with extensive complex care experience will be considered.
- Experience: A proven track record in a leadership role (Registered Manager, Deputy, or Clinical Team Leader) within a learning disability, autism, or complex behavioral care setting.
- Expertise: Strong understanding of Positive Behavior Support (PBS), the Mental Capacity Act, and Safeguarding protocols.
- Traits: Excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, outstanding organizational abilities, and a resilient mindset.
- Driver: A full UK driving license is preferred.
