Community Support Worker / Personal Assistant (SEND & Complex Needs)
Location: Solihull, Birmingham and surrounding areas
Job Type: Zero Hours Contract
Salary: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour plus paid mileage
Hours: Flexible hours available including after school, evenings, weekends and school holidays.

The Role
As a Community Support Worker / Personal Assistant, you will provide person centred support to children and young people with a range of additional needs including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD
- Learning disabilities
- Physical disabilities
- Sensory needs
- Complex behavioural needs
- Social, emotional and mental health needs
Support may take place in the family home, within the local community or as part of short break and respite activities.
Responsibilities
- Supporting children and young people to access community activities and social opportunities.
- Providing personalised support tailored to individual needs and outcomes.
- Assisting with personal care where required and appropriate training has been provided.
- Supporting children during therapeutic activities, sensory sessions and holiday clubs.
- Promoting independence, life skills and confidence building.
- Supporting with communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Maintaining accurate records and session notes.
- Working collaboratively with families, schools and professionals.
- Reporting safeguarding concerns and following company policies and procedures.
- Transporting or accompanying children to activities, appointments and community outings where appropriate.

Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Children's residential care
- Community support work
- SEN education settings
- Family support services
- Respite or short break services
- Autism support
- Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Personal care
- Youth work or mentoring
Experience welcomed but not essential as training is provided
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two satisfactory references.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable but not essential.
