Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. At our new Spalding branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, ensuring that all items are transported efficiently and in accordance with company policies. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance.
Duties
- Drive a van to deliver goods to various locations, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload goods safely, using appropriate equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during transit.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients during deliveries.
- Perform basic mechanical checks and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is an advantage.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with minor repairs and maintenance of the van.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and customers effectively.
- Must be over 25 for insurance reasons.
