Duties
- Conduct structured swimming lessons tailored to the skill levels and needs of participants, from beginners to advanced swimmers
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, safety protocols, and water survival skills with clarity and enthusiasm
- Monitor participants closely during lessons to ensure safety, providing immediate assistance if needed
- Develop personalized training plans that motivate learners and track their progress over time
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool environment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with participants and their guardians about progress, safety tips and upcoming sessions
Requirements
- Proven sports coaching experience or background in teaching physical activities, preferably in swimming or water based sports
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to motivate learners of diverse ages and skill levels
- Must hold Swim England level 1 and 2 teaching qualifications plus an up to date teachers rescue course or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly demonstrate techniques and provide constructive feedback
- Ability to remain calm, vigilant, and responsive in aquatic environments at all times
- Enthusiastic attitude with a passion for promoting water safety, fitness, and enjoyment through teaching
- Must be reliable and able to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings as needed
