There couldn’t be a better time to work in Affordable Housing at Homes England following the biggest settlement announced as part of the Spending Review of a 10 year £39bn Social and Affordable Homes Programme.
You will be part of the team working closely with government and partners across the sector to deliver an ambitious affordable housing programme. We are looking for individuals excited and motivated by the opportunity to shape delivery, especially as we implement our regional and place-based operating model.
To support this opportunity, we’re looking to recruit Growth Managers across the five Homes England Regional teams – North East, North West, Midlands, South and East to support delivery and affordable housing growth.
As part of a new Regional Delivery Directorate, you will have a unique opportunity, working with key stakeholders and a range of internal HE teams to maximise affordable housing delivery in the respective region. As part of the Affordable Housing Growth team in the selected area, and aligned to the national Affordable Housing team, the Growth Manager will play a critical role in developing the pipeline and bringing new business into the Social and Affordable Homes Programme. You will be joining our highly experienced team who are committed to making positive change in people’s lives through collaboration and adopting an inclusive culture.
This is a rare chance to shape the future of affordable housing delivery in a fast growing organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a professional, enthusiastic team from all parts of the Agency, you will support new and existing delivery partners to deliver high-quality, affordable homes. The role will have a wide range of projects to get involved with, ranging from large urban regeneration to smaller, bespoke community-led schemes.
You should excel at partnership working and collaboration, be an excellent communicator, have a good eye for detail and have an understanding of funding models and delivery of affordable housing.
It is essential that you can work collaboratively and develop effective relationships both internally and externally, work within a political environment and adapt your style to maximise contributions from a diverse range of partners. Assessing proposals for funding is a critical part of this role.
You will need to demonstrate knowledge of the affordable housing sector, understanding of development and viability appraisals as well as regional and local housing markets.
As an experienced professional, you’ll be able to work effectively across multifunctional teams and demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative and inclusive way.
Homes England: The Housing and Regeneration Agency
We believe that affordable, quality homes in well-designed places are key to improving people’s lives. As the government’s housing and regeneration agency, we create thriving new places and transform urban areas, combining the full breadth of our powers, expertise, land, capital and influence to bring investment to communities and get more homes built.
How? We form long-term partnerships that bridge the gap between the public and private sector to meet local needs and aspirations. We use our influence to champion the creation of sustainable homes, communities and places that are brilliantly designed for the people that live there now, and in the future. And we use our funding and support to build a more resilient, diverse and innovative housing sector, helping new entrants in the market, encouraging modern methods of construction and design, and promoting the utmost attention to building safety.
Together with our partners, we’re accelerating the pace of house building, remediation and regeneration across the country, as we seek to deliver ever more affordable homes in places people are proud to call home for generations to come.
