Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our new childcare facility. This role will be crucial in supporting and driving the team to deliver the best care for our children as well as the staff under them. They will play a crucial part in getting this new nursery up to ofsted standards as well as preparing the nursery to expand its numbers from a small team of 3 staff and 12 children to 16 staff and 62 children over the next year. This is an exciting new opportunity to deliver new ideas as well as bring a new team together. As the business grows new opportunities might become available as we would hope to bring more nurseries into the area. successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for early childhood education. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in fostering a positive atmosphere that supports children's development and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursery team, including recruitment, training, and performance appraisals
- Develop and implement programmes that promote early childhood development in line with educational standards
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and licensing requirements
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and nursery activities
- Organise daily routines, activities, and educational sessions to support children's learning and socialisation
- Oversee administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and resource management
- Foster a welcoming environment that encourages positive behaviour and emotional growth among children
- Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times
- Promote continuous professional development within the team to uphold high standards of childcare
Experience
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Experience working directly with children in childcare or nursery environments.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Valid driving license is preferred with personal transportation.
- Previous experience with safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations in childcare settings.
- Previous experience with opening a new nursery and Ofstead.
- Minimum Level 4 Childcare required.
- Minimum 2 years management experience.
