Position: Facilities Manager
Location: Diocesan Property Department, Diocesan Offices, Incle Street, Paisley
Salary band: £19 per hours
Contract: Part-time, permanent with a 3-month probationary period
Start date: From August/September 2026
Working Hours: 9:00 – 17:00 (includes 1-hour unpaid lunch break), Monday to Wednesday (after the initial induction period), with flexibility required for meetings and emergencies outside normal hours. Flexibility will be remunerated or hours returned via TOIL.
Induction Period: For the initial 6 – 8 weeks, the successful candidate will work Wednesday - Friday shadowing the Property Manager and the Assistant Property Manager. Following the induction period, working days will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Equipment Provided: Shared departmental mobile phone and personal laptop computer.
About the Role
The Diocesan Property Department is seeking a proactive and organised Facilities Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Property Manager and Assistant Property Manager, and to contribute to the effective management, maintenance, and compliance of diocesan properties throughout Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde, which consists of thirty parishes.
Main Responsibilities
· To work in conjunction with the property manager on all property related matters, primarily dealing with facilities management, repairs, proactive and reactive maintenance.
· Ensuring that all Diocesan Properties are legally compliant. e.g. EICRS, Gas Safety Checks, PAT Testing, Emergency Lighting, etc, attending site to facilitate these when required.
· Attend all Diocesan Property Committee Meetings.
· Respond to emergencies out with office hours if urgent.
· Deputise in the absence of the property manager when required.
