An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Fabricator Welder, experienced in MIG welding to join one of London’s leading scenic construction companies, building quality scenery in a variety of materials for the entertainment, events and arts industries.
The varied nature of projects undertaken by Scott Fleary offer the right candidate a place to demonstrate their ability by working with a highly skilled and experienced team in delivering complex and creative projects accurately, on time and within budget.
About You
You will be an experienced engineering professional, seeking a long-term opportunity. You have a strong background in fabrication, ideally within scenic construction, architectural metalwork or bespoke fabrication in a related field.
The right candidate should be able to:
- Scenic, construction industry or other relevant industry experience with good fabrication skills in MIG.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and build accurate pieces.
- Identify shortfalls in drawings and identify any on-site build risks at workshop stage.
- Extensive knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques
- Be resourceful, self-organise and prioritise
- Ensure quality of work for self and others.
- Show good communication, team and inter-personal skills.
- Comprehensive understanding and proactive compliance with workshop H&S rules and PPE.
- Have confidence with manual handling techniques.
- Experience with TIG welding is preferable but not essential – training can be provided.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualifications would be preferable but not essential.
- Coded welding certifications are desirable but not essential.
- The ability to prepare for site in co-ordination with the Project Office and to lead on-site build teams as required would be an advantage.

This is a permanent, full-time position with competitive industry rates of pay and will include the opportunity for event site work and overtime.
