We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive kitchen experience, demonstrate strong leadership qualities, and have a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth service delivery.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of a diverse range of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining high levels of quality, consistency, and safety
- Monitor food safety practices and ensure compliance with health regulations at all times
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service during busy periods
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen operations
- Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment
- Support menu planning and development in collaboration with the Head Chef
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen setting
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential
- Knowledge of food production techniques and culinary trends
- Experience in serving customers and understanding hospitality operations is advantageous
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills
