Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Cold Chain Co-Ordinator to join the Quality team at our pharmaceutical warehouse in Draperstown. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the development, implementation and management of our new pharmaceutical cold chain operation.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong pharmaceutical and cold chain experience who wants to build and lead on a new operation rather than simply maintain an existing process.
This is a hands-on, start-up role. You will be responsible for designing, coordinating and implementing new procedures that relate to pharmaceutical cold-chain distribution. You will manage this new venture from the ground up, ensuring that the transportation, storage, labelling and distribution of medicinal products requiring 2°C–8°C conditions is fully compliant with GDP, GMP and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Quality, Warehouse and Logistics teams, you will manage the day-to-day quality, GMP and GDP oversight of all cold chain medicinal products from procurement to supply.
- Ensure products are stored continuously within the required temperature range of 2°C to 8°C. Monitor transportation performance to ensure cold chain integrity is maintained throughout delivery to pharmacies.
- Manage the recovery and re-use procedure of cold chain shipping containers.
- Design and manage quality management system documentation that governs and controls cold-chain distribution at IMED.
- Investigate temperature excursions, deviations and non-conformances, implementing appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Maintain employee training records.
- Maintain all cold chain documentation in accordance with GDP, GMP and company procedures.
- Participate in internal audits and external regulatory inspections and lead on such inspections with respect to cold chain distribution.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Degree in a life science discipline.
- Strong background and experience in working with cold chain products
- Strong understanding of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and associated quality management systems.
- Excellent documentation and record management skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Confidence to lead on competent authority inspections.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across Quality, Warehouse and Logistics functions and work collaboratively across all departments.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to accurately analyse, interpret and trend temperature-monitoring data,
