We're looking for enthusiastic waiting staff to join our team for August and September. This is a temporary summer role with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
The pub
The Marlborough Tavern, is a classic gastropub, combining great food with an authentic & friendly pub atmosphere. Busy and popular with locals and tourists alike, it’s picked a string of local and national awards since its opening in 2006.
Located just around the corner from Bath’s Royal Crescent, the pub’s held two AA rosettes for its cooking since 2009.
The role
The waiter/waitress’s role is to provide guests with friendly, professional service, and to ensure all guests leave happy. As such, it is one of the most important roles in the business.
You’ll need to have a friendly manner and be a good team player – great service comes from working well with your colleagues.
In return, we’ll give you all the training and support you’ll need to grow and develop. It’s hard work at times, but immensely rewarding – there’s nothing like working on a busy service when every customer leaves happy.
The Marlborough has a reputation for giving great service so you’ll be a joining a team that prides themselves on giving service with a smile.
Front of house
The role of the front of house team isn’t to serve food & drink – it’s to make every customer’s visit special. Of course, that often involves serving food and drink, but it’s so much more than that; a good front of house team turn good customer visits into great ones.
Our front of house roles give you a real opportunity to grow, learn and develop both personally and professionally. You’ll be working alongside people with a shared passion for delivering great service.
When it comes to service, we believe it’s about doing the basics really well and attention to detail; but above all it’s about the people. You can make the difference and make a customer’s visit truly memorable.
There’s a great spirit among the front of house team at the Marlborough; they give truly great service and have a good time doing it too. They take a huge amount of pride in working at ‘the Tav’ and are a big part of the reason why it’s such a popular pub.
The bar underwent a complete refit in 2021 making it a professional, efficient and good looking working space. The Marlborough’s one of those great little places that are cosy and welcoming in winter and a sun trap in summertime.
