Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bricklaying gang to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for executing a variety of masonry tasks, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced tradespeople to work on diverse projects, contributing to the realisation of durable and aesthetically pleasing structures.
Duties
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units according to project specifications and blueprints
- Prepare surfaces and foundations prior to bricklaying activities
- Mix mortar and apply it accurately using hand tools and power tools
- Operate a range of equipment including trowels, levels, and scaffolding safely and efficiently
- Assist with the installation of roofing, carpentry, or welding tasks as required on site
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, roofers, or welders to complete projects on time
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and chisels
- Strong knowledge of bricklaying techniques and masonry principles
- Experience with power tools including drills, mixers, and saws
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Basic carpentry skills beneficial for framing or formwork tasks
- Familiarity with roofing installation processes is advantageous
- Welding skills are a plus for specialised construction requirements
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail and safety compliance
