People Welfare Officer
Location: Braemar, Scotland – this role is on-site with occasional days working from home possible
Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week

We're looking for a highly organised, people-focused People Welfare Officer to join our People Team and play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing, engagement and day-to-day experience of our team members across Scotland.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. From coordinating wellbeing initiatives and staff events to managing staff accommodation, supporting onboarding and ensuring our team members have everything they need to thrive, you'll be at the centre of creating a positive and supportive working environment.

What You'll Be Doing
As our People Welfare Officer, you'll support every stage of the employee journey, including:
Supporting Team Wellbeing
- Coordinating health and wellbeing initiatives across our Scottish sites.
- Organising staff engagement activities, social events, charity initiatives and celebrations.
- Managing team recognition activities, including birthdays, long service awards and seasonal gifting.
- Preparing, issuing and monitoring stock of staff uniforms, ensuring all team members have correct uniform, that repairs and replacements are identified and arranged timeously, and that re-ordering and repairing is done as required.
- Preparing, issuing and monitoring stock of staff access cards and locker keys, ensuring that re-allocations are arranged timeously and effectively. Ensure that re-ordering is done as required.
Managing Staff Accommodation
- Allocating accommodation for new starters and coordinating room moves.
- Maintaining accurate accommodation records and charges.
- Arranging room preparation, maintenance and repairs.
- Conducting routine accommodation inspections and supporting communal living standards.
- Maintaining accommodation communications and supporting residents' needs.
Supporting Recruitment and Onboarding
- Coordinating interviews, recruitment events and candidate visits.
- Managing onboarding administration, including contracts, references and right-to-work checks.
- Delivering corporate inductions and ensuring new starters have a positive welcome experience.
- Coordinating accommodation and access arrangements for new recruits.
Supporting the Employee Lifecycle
- Managing employee administration throughout employment and upon departure.
- Processing contractual changes, employment letters and reference requests.
- Coordinating offboarding activities and exit interviews.
- Maintaining employee records and ensuring GDPR compliance.
Coordinating People Team Activities
- Supporting training administration and compliance activities.
- Producing people data reports and maintaining HR systems.
- Administering employee benefits and reward schemes.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and employee experience.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is:
- Exceptionally organised and detail-oriented.
- A confident communicator who enjoys working with people at all levels.
- Comfortable working independently and using their initiative.
- Proactive, positive and solution-focused.
- Experienced in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems.
- Passionate about creating positive employee experiences.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Experience in an HR, administration, welfare or people-focused role.
- Hospitality experience or an understanding of hospitality environments.
- Experience delivering inductions, onboarding or training.
- Experience supporting projects, process improvement initiatives or system developments.
