Commercial Account Executive

Wye Valley Skips is looking for an organised, commercially minded Commercial Account Executive to support our customers and help develop our commercial operation.
This is primarily an office-based role within a small, close-knit team. You will manage customer enquiries, process skip orders, support existing accounts and provide commercial and administrative support across the business.
There will also be occasional visits to customer sites and meetings where required.
The role offers clear progression into a more proactive account management, sales and business development position as your knowledge and experience grow.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Answering incoming customer calls and enquiries
- Processing skip hire and waste collection orders accurately
- Managing and supporting existing customer accounts
- Acting as a key point of contact for customers
- Preparing quotations, proposals and service agreements
- Following up quotations and customer enquiries
- Maintaining accurate customer, pricing and service information
- Coordinating with operations, transport, compliance and finance
- Resolving customer queries and service issues
- Supporting enquiries across skip hire, waste collection, recycling, hazardous waste and environmental services
- Ensuring the correct information and documentation is captured for hazardous waste enquiries
- Identifying opportunities to retain and grow existing customer accounts
- Providing general administrative support to the commercial team
- Attending occasional customer meetings and site visits
- Developing towards a more proactive sales and new business role
What We’re Looking For
You will be organised, reliable and confident speaking with customers by phone and email.
You should have:
- Experience in customer service, administration, account management or sales support
- Strong telephone and written communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to manage several enquiries and priorities at once
- Good general IT and administrative skills
- A practical and customer-focused approach
- The confidence to work independently while being part of a small team
- Willingness to learn and support the wider team
Experience within waste management, recycling, logistics, construction, aggregates or environmental services would be useful, but it is not essential.
Full training will be provided.
Attitude, organisation, reliability and willingness to learn are more important than direct industry experience.
