We’re looking for an organised, and motivated Burger Chef to join our burger kitchen at The Old Eastway Tap on Easter Road on a part-time 30 hour per week rota.
This is a one-chef kitchen, meaning you’ll be solely responsible for running service, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and organisation, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
The Old Eastway Tap is a busy Leith pub with a popular burger kitchen loved by the locals.
The Role
This position is about taking ownership of your shifts and maintaining consistently high standards in a busy, open kitchen.
You will:
- Run the kitchen solo during your shifts, managing everything from prep to close.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organisation, this is an open kitchen, visible to customers.
- Cook fresh, high-quality burgers and sides in a fast-paced pub environment.
- Uphold strict food safety, hygiene, and due diligence standards.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Lead Chef to ensure consistency, smooth service, and clear communication across the team.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who takes pride in their work and has a can do attitude.
- Experience in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred.
- Excellent organisation and self-management.
- As it's an open kitchen a clean, professional personal presentation is essential.
- Ability to remain calm, efficient, and focused during busy periods.
- A reliable, hard-working attitude and genuine pride in delivering great food.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certification preferred (training can be provided).

- £13.50 per hour
- Level 2 Food Safety preferred (training provided if needed).
- 3-month probation period.
- Uniform provided.
- Staff meal on shift and a pint after your shift.
