About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Visitor Centre Supervisor to join our team at Aber Falls Distillery. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality, retail or tourism professional to help deliver exceptional visitor experiences at one of North Wales' premier distillery destinations.
As Visitor Centre Supervisor you will support the day-to-day operation of the visitor centre and cafe, ensuring outstanding customer service, efficient team performance and a welcoming environment for every guest. You will lead by example, supervise visitor centre staff and help drive retail sales and visitor satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operation of the visitor centre, café and tasting experiences.
- Lead, motivate and support the visitor centre team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, handle enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
- Support the scheduling, training and development of team members.
- Ensure visitor experiences run smoothly and to a high standard.
- Maintain high standards of food and drink presentation, cleanliness and customer service within the café.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and merchandising.
- Support achievement of retail sales targets and visitor centre KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, licensing and company procedures.
- Assist with special events, corporate visits, and promotional activities.
- Manage staff rotas, breaks and daily task allocation.
- Complete administrative duties, reports and cash handling procedures as required.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in hospitality, tourism, retail, leisure or a visitor attraction environment.
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence in handling customer queries and resolving issues effectively.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends, holidays and peak visitor periods.
- Good IT skills and experience using booking, retail or POS systems.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience within a tourism attraction and/or cafe in North Wales.
- Barista experience
- Knowledge of whisky, gin or premium spirits.
- Personal licence holder or understanding of alcohol licensing regulations.
- Food hygiene Certificate
- Welsh language skills.
