Part Time Maintenance Officer - 15 hours per week

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a part time Maintenance Officer to join our dedicated team.
This is a practical and varied role where you will play an important part in ensuring our properties are safe, secure, welcoming and well maintained for both staff and the people who access our services.
Working across our offices, outreach properties and other premises, you will complete routine and basic maintenance tasks, undertake specified building safety checks and help us maintain compliance with relevant health and safety requirements.
As the role involves travelling between different locations, a full driving licence is essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out routine repairs and general maintenance across company premises.
- Undertake basic plumbing, joinery, carpentry, decorating and other minor repairs.
- Undertake routine building safety checks and accurately record the results.
- Carry out water temperature monitoring and other routine water safety checks as part of the organisation's agreed monitoring programme.
- Respond appropriately to maintenance requests from services and departments.
- Work closely with the Senior Maintenance Officer to prioritise repairs according to urgency, safety and operational need.
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance programmes.
- Follow company health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Maintain appropriate records of maintenance work, safety checks and repairs completed.
- Report significant maintenance, safety or building issues promptly to the appropriate manager or Senior Maintenance Officer.
- Support the organisation in maintaining safe, welcoming and secure work and living environments for staff and clients.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Good basic knowledge and understanding of general building maintenance.
- Practical experience of carrying out general repairs, maintenance or DIY tasks.
- The ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
- An understanding of the importance of health and safety in a maintenance environment.
- A practical and problem-solving approach to your work.
- The ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work positively with colleagues, staff and clients.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A full driving licence.
