Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineer to join our Engineering Team at Balsham, Cambridge. This is a hands-on role ensuring all plant and machinery operates safely and as efficiently as possible, through a comprehensive service schedule always carried out to the highest standards. Camgrain uses PLC systems to operate screw augers, chain conveyors and bucket elevators, as well as several belt conveyors.
The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, skilled in multiple aspects of engineering, personable and a great communicator. Happy to work in and out of doors in all conditions and able to fit into a team that has a strong health and safety culture, with a willingness to take responsibility for the safety of themselves and others around them at all times.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out proactive and preventative maintenance through a thorough and detailed service plan.
· Work around the operational needs of the plant to ensure all machines are always kept serviced and in good condition.
· Carry out all tasks within the company health and safety guidelines with a view to improving them in anywhere possible.
· Attend weekly meetings to plan work and report any issues or required shutdowns.
· Keep accurate records of works and provide reports to the Store Manager upon request.
· Constantly monitor the condition of the plant and schedule downtime requirements in advance of any breakdowns.
· Control a stock level of spares and consumables through record keeping and careful procurement in line with company procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
· Basic fabrication skills.
· 18th addition an advantage but not essential
· Experience in diagnosing electrical motors and switch gear faults.
· Previous relevant engineering experience.
· A can do and positive attitude towards all work and challenges.
· Ability to constantly work towards and meet deadlines.
· A flexible approach and willingness to undertake extra hours during busy periods.
· High level of pride and attention to detail.
· Able to work at heights and in confined spaces (training provided if required)
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently alone and as a team player.

This role is a permanent full-time position. A flexible approach to working hours during our busy harvest period (June – September) is essential.
