We are looking for a reliable, practical, and proactive Maintenance Person to join our team. This role will support the upkeep and safety of one or two care homes, depending on the hours agreed.
You will play an important role in ensuring our homes remain safe, well-maintained, and comfortable for our residents, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and general handyman duties.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks, including fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, water temperature monitoring, and building inspections.
- Maintain the grounds and external areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and presentable.
- Liaise with external contractors and oversee their work when required.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and report any significant repairs or compliance issues.
- Assist with room preparation and minor refurbishment work.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and care home policies.
About You
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or handyman role.
- Good practical skills across basic plumbing, decorating, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads.
- A positive, flexible, and approachable attitude.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work respectfully within a care environment.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable if supporting two homes.
