Security Gateman – Immediate Vacancy
Location: Barking, East London
Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour
Hours: 12-hour shifts | 4 on, 4 off rota
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced and dependable Security Gateman to work on a busy site in Barking. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining site security, managing access, and ensuring the safe movement of vehicles throughout the working day.
Main Duties
- Operate the site entrance and control all pedestrian and vehicle access.
- Guide delivery vehicles and site traffic safely to and from designated areas.
- Register all visitors, contractors, and staff, ensuring site records remain accurate.
- Carry out scheduled patrols to identify potential security issues or health and safety concerns.
- Remain vigilant throughout the shift and report any incidents, suspicious activity, or breaches of site rules.
- Provide a professional and courteous first point of contact for everyone entering the premises.
Candidate Requirements
- Current SIA Door Supervisor licence.
- Strong awareness of health and safety with the ability to remain attentive at all times.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a rotating 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, including evenings, nights, and weekends where required.
- Previous experience within construction site security, gatehouse operations, or traffic marshalling is desirable but not essential.
