M&E / MEP Manager – Construction & Fit-Out
Location: Northern Ireland / GB Projects
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £35,000 – £65,000 DOE
Live vacancy for an M&E / MEP Manager – joining a growing construction & fit-out contractor to take the technical lead on mechanical and electrical packages across a strong pipeline of projects.
Travel is approximately 3 days per week to GB, typically Tuesday–Thursday.
Key Benefits:
- £35,000 – £65,000 DOE
- Level and responsibility tailored around your experience
- Open to experienced managers OR ambitious candidates stepping up
- Exposure to varied construction & fit-out projects
- Genuine ownership of the M&E/MEP function
- Technical, project-focused position – not Facilities Management
- Opportunity to broaden from a Mechanical or Electrical background into full M&E/MEP management
The Role:
This could work equally well for an established M&E/MEP Manager or a strong Mechanical / Electrical Project Manager who is ready to broaden their responsibility.
You'll act as the technical M&E lead across multiple construction and fit-out projects, representing the business in meetings with clients, architects, consultants, designers and specialist subcontractors.
The focus is on solving problems before they become expensive ones – coordinating design, reviewing installations, improving buildability, identifying value-engineering opportunities and making sure M&E packages actually work on site.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Acting as the M&E / MEP lead across assigned projects
- Managing Mechanical & Electrical packages across live projects and tenders
- Reviewing M&E drawings, designs and specifications
- Coordinating M&E design development
- Advising Project Managers on technical M&E matters
- Identifying design, installation and buildability issues
- Driving value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Coordinating specialist M&E subcontractors
- Managing design, procurement, installation, testing & commissioning
- Monitoring M&E works against programme
- Attending client and design-team meetings
- Supporting commissioning and project handover
Positive Signs on your CV:
- Genuine Mechanical or Electrical technical background
- Experience within M&E / building services / construction / fit-out
- Experience managing or coordinating Mechanical and/or Electrical packages
- Strong understanding of building services installations
- Ability to review M&E drawings and specifications
- Experience coordinating specialist subcontractors
- Confident discussing technical issues with clients, consultants and designers
- Strong understanding of buildability and installation methods
- Commercial awareness and an eye for value engineering
- Comfortable travelling to GB approximately Tuesday–Thursday each week
Coming from a Mechanical or Electrical PM / Contracts Manager background and looking to make the move into broader M&E management? You don't necessarily need to have held the M&E Manager title already.
