Join our busy friendly bakery team!
We're looking for a reliable, motivated experienced baker/confectioner with at least 5 years experience working on deck ovens and hand moulding. You will be part of a small team producing dough and confectionery goods. The position is 2 shifts a week Monday 4.00 am - 10.00 am and Friday 9.00 am - 3.00 pm plus holiday cover and an extra pair of hands as busy times.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of baked goods and confections, including bread, pastries, cakes, following established recipes and quality standards.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as measuring ingredients, mixing batters, and decorating finished products to ensure visual appeal.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by efficiently ensuring timely production.
- Monitor ingredient inventory levels, report shortages, and help with stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new recipes or improve existing baked goods for seasonal or special occasions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, baking, or culinary roles within a bakery setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, baking methods, and food safety protocols.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in baking and confectionery production.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively.
- A genuine passion for baking, creativity in confectionery decoration, and eagerness to learn new techniques.
