Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carers to provide exceptional in-home care for clients requiring support with daily living activities. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with various care needs, including elderly clients, those with dementia, or individuals recovering from illness. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine caring nature, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently within a home environment. This paid position involves living on-site to deliver personalised care and support, ensuring clients' comfort, safety, and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Providing personalised patient care tailored to individual needs, including assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, and daily routines
- Administering medication and managing medication schedules in accordance with healthcare plans
- Assisting with meal preparation and ensuring nutritional requirements are met
- Supporting clients with assisted living activities such as light housekeeping and laundry
- Managing behaviour and implementing behaviour management strategies for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Offering emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Responding promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when necessary
- Ensuring a safe and secure environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
- Documenting care activities accurately and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
Experience
- Prior experience in nursing home care, home care, or assisted living environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s, dementia, hospice, or senior care is advantageous
- Proven caregiving experience including medication administration and behaviour management
