Location
Nuneaton and surrounding areas (must have the ability to travel reliably within this radius).
Pay
£14.57 per hour (includes £13 basic pay and £1.57 rolled-up holiday pay paid on top per hour worked).
Benefits
- 30p per mile travel allowance paid specifically for travel between client locations. (Note: Because this is a PAYE role, you can also claim an extra 25p per mile tax relief directly back from HMRC at the end of the year to top up your vehicle costs!).
About The Role
We are looking to employ a reliable, passionate and flexible Dog Walker to join our team on a PAYE basis. This is a zero hours position where hours will vary week on week. It is ideal for someone looking for a flexible part time income rather than a guaranteed full time wage.
The majority of this role will involve solo walks, ensuring high quality, focused and safe care for each dog.
What Your Day Will Look Like
- Arrive at a client's home, get a massive, excited welcome from a very happy dog and head out for a fun, refreshing walk.
- Snap some cute photos of the dog on their adventure to send as an update to their owner.
- Log the walk easily on our app, send over the photos and a quick update so the owner knows how much fun they had and secure the dog safely back home.
- Drive to your next furry client while the business handles tracking your mileage for you - ensuring your 30p per mile allowance is automatically calculated for all travel between client appointments.
- No micromanagement and no office drama - just you, the fresh air and great dogs!
Why You'll Love This Role (The Perks)
- Get paid to stay fit: Swap a stuffy office or a shop floor for the fresh air! It's a fantastic way to stay active.
- No forced late nights or weekends: Whilst evening and weekend work is sometimes available, they are never a requirement. You choose what fits your lifestyle.
- Your hard work is recognised: We are a small, independent business and we truly value our team. Commitment, reliability and going the extra mile are always noticed and rewarded.
- Unmatched job satisfaction: You'll be greeted by happy, wagging tails every single day!
Key Skills & Requirements
- Reliable and responsible outlook: You will be handling clients' house keys and working independently so high integrity, a calm approach, common sense and a responsible attitude are essential.
- Absolute dependability: Our clients (and their dogs) rely on us heavily. You must be dependable, punctual and take pride in showing up on time, every time.
- Physically Fit: You must be physically fit and comfortable to be out walking in all weathers (rain, shine or mud!). You must supply your own reliable waterproof clothing and suitable, supportive walking boots or wellies.
- Own transport: You must have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travelling between client locations. Valid social, domestic and business insurance must be in place before your start date. (Please note: mileage is paid between client jobs; travel from your home to the first dog and from the last dog back home is not covered).
- Tech savvy: All scheduling, client updates and job logs are completed via a dedicated app. You must be proficient in using a smartphone to manage your workday, upload photos and update clients.
- Background checks: Employment is subject to a clean background check; a basic DBS check will be initiated and paid for by the business upon hire.
- Training provided: No prior professional experience is required as full training will be provided to set you up for success! This includes funded Canine First Aid training and a series of shadow walks alongside the business owner until you feel fully confident. All training and shadow walks are fully paid at the standard hourly rate.
If you are a reliable, trustworthy dog lover looking for active, flexible work where you are genuinely valued, we would love to hear from you!
