Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, serving, and time management within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, to high standards of quality and presentation
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, including sanitising surfaces and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light meals when required
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times
- Manage multiple orders during busy periods while maintaining excellent customer service
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation throughout shifts
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and friendliness
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients
- Ability to perform food preparation tasks efficiently and accurately
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork and customer interaction
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as required
