The Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Fabrication Production Operative to join our growing Wigan factory. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where you will cut and prepare steel components, interpret manufacturing drawings, and support the fabrication and assembly of high quality healthcare equipment that makes a real difference in people's lives.
The successful candidate will bring practical fabrication experience, while supporting production targets and maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to develop additional skills, contribute to continuous improvement, and grow within a world class manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Cutting and preparing steel components in line with production requirements
· Reading and understanding engineering and manufacturing drawings
· Measuring, marking out, drilling and fitting components accurately
· Carrying out fabrication tasks to the required specification and quality standard
· Use of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
· Working on production lines to meet daily output targets
· Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
· Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the factory
· Working collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals
· Participating in cross-training across different areas of production
Essential Criteria
· Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
· Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new production skills
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
· Basic numeracy with the ability to measure accurately and follow work instructions
· Ability to meet daily targets and work safely and efficiently under pressure
Desirable Criteria
· Experience in TIG Welding is advantageous.
