An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinician who is passionate about the opportunities within digital to act as a Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) coordinating and carrying out clinical safety activities throughout the lifecycle of digital transformation projects, including throughout the procurement of a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR).
We are looking for an individual who will offer knowledge in Clinical Safety Compliance and Risk Management and will be the point of contact for all matters relating to clinical safety.

Key aspects of the role will be to:
Ensure Clinical Safety is considered throughout the lifetime of the programme with identifying and mitigating associated clinical risks
Ensure compliance to the mandatory Clinical Safety standards DCB0160
Create all necessary documentation as part of the Clinical Risk Management Plan
Report, investigate and resolve any clinical safety incidents
Promote and increase awareness of clinical safety activities across the organisation

The purpose of this role is to act as a Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) coordinating and carrying out clinical safety activities associated with IT health systems across the organisation.
The CSO will ensure that safety is maintained throughout the lifecycle of the digital transformation projects including throughout the procurement of a new EPR system. In doing so, the CSO will ensure the Trust is compliant with the NHS clinical risk management DCB0160 standard deployment and use of health IT systems.
The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring that all IT health systems developed or procured conform to the DCB 0129 standard for clinical risk management application in the Manufacture of Health Systems.
The post holder will be involved in reporting, investigating, and resolving clinical safety incidents and making recommendations on the safety of health IT systems.
The post holder will be an active member of the Clinical Digital Team and will be responsible for promoting and increasing awareness of clinical safety activities across the organisation and wider health community.
