- Preparing the site for customer, BRCGS and regulatory audits, acting as the key site contact throughout.
- Managing risk registers, compliance KPIs and continuous improvement plans.
- Leading incident investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
- Supporting compliance with customer requirements, legal obligations, and internal standards.
- Partnering with Site Leadership to identify opportunities that improve compliance performance and reduce risk.
- Providing expert advice, coaching and guidance across the business on compliance-related matters.
Success in this role will be measured through strong audit performance, continuous improvement in compliance metrics, enhanced site capability and the development of a positive, proactive compliance culture.
Ideally this is you!
We're looking for someone who combines technical compliance expertise with strong leadership and influencing skills.
You'll ideally have:
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) and/or a Food Science related degree.
- Previous experience within Health & Safety, Food Safety or Compliance, ideally within food manufacturing.
- A strong understanding of HACCP, BRCGS standards and compliance management systems.
- Knowledge of ISO management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or similar).
- Experience leading audits and driving continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to managing risk.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience in sustainability, environmental compliance or lead auditing would be advantageous but is not essential.
What’s in it for you!
- Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Leave to allow quality time with your new arrival!
- Enhanced Pension Scheme for our employees
- Death in Service Benefit
- Free Employee Assistance Programme (open to colleagues and their families)
- Retail discounts accessible via our Benefits Hub platform!

- Employee Recognition Awards
- Extensive Learning & Development opportunities (including opportunities for sponsored professional memberships and our own in-house development course!)
- Genuine career progression opportunities across Nicholas & Harris and the wider Finsbury Food Group.
Our vision is to be the UK's leading speciality bakery group, and we know that starts with having exceptional people. We invest heavily in our colleagues, providing opportunities to develop, grow and build long-term careers.
If you're ready to take the lead in driving compliance excellence and want to make a genuine impact within a successful manufacturing business, we'd love to hear from you.
