Job Title: Level 2 Early Years Practitioner
Location: Alpha Day Nursery, 198 Woodside Green, South Norwood SE25 5EW
Salary: £8 - £12.71
Start Date: September
Hours: Between Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our nursery as a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a rewarding career in childcare while gaining a nationally recognised Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification.
Working alongside experienced practitioners, you will support the care, learning and development of children aged 0–5 years in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. You will receive full training and ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities -
- Support the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage children's learning and development.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
- Help to create a safe, clean and welcoming nursery environment.
- Support children's personal care routines, including nappy changing, toileting, meal times and promoting good hygiene.
- Observe children's progress and contribute to learning journals and assessments under the guidance of qualified practitioners.
- Follow all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and equality and diversity.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions and complete all apprenticeship coursework within agreed timescales.
- Work as part of a friendly and supportive team while developing your professional knowledge and skills.

Entry Requirements -
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Early Years.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) are desirable but not essential, depending on apprenticeship provider requirements.
- No previous childcare experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
