We are looking for an organised, proactive and people-focusedRecruitment Officer to join our office team and take responsibility for supporting the recruitment and onboarding of our care workforce.
This is a key role within the business. Recruiting the right people is fundamental to the quality and consistency of care we provide, and we are looking for someone who can deliver an efficient recruitment process while ensuring candidates receive a positive and professional experience from their first contact with us.
The Role
As Recruitment Officer, you will manage the recruitment journey from initial advertising and candidate engagement through to onboarding and ensuring new starters are ready to begin employment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing recruitment adverts across Indeed and other recruitment channels
- Proactively sourcing and engaging suitable candidates
- Reviewing applications and conducting initial candidate screening
- Arranging and supporting interviews
- Maintaining regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Completing pre-employment and compliance checks, including references, Right to Work and DBS processes
- Ensuring recruitment files are complete, accurate and compliant
- Preparing offer letters and new starter documentation
- Coordinating new starters through the onboarding process
- Liaising with colleagues to ensure new employees progress smoothly into induction, training and work
- Maintaining recruitment trackers and providing updates on vacancies and candidate progress
- Supporting recruitment campaigns, job fairs and other initiatives to attract new staff
- Developing relationships with local organisations and other potential recruitment sources
- Supporting improvements to recruitment processes, candidate experience and staff retention
- Ensuring recruitment activity reflects safer recruitment principles and the requirements of the care sector
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident communicating with people, highly organised and comfortable managing multiple candidates at different stages of recruitment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous recruitment and/or HR experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence speaking with candidates by telephone and face-to-face
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of recruitment activity
- Good IT skills and confidence using online recruitment and HR systems
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to recruitment targets
- A professional and approachable manner
- An understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive information
Previous recruitment experience within health and social care would be advantageous, although this is not essential for the right candidate.
Hours & Working Pattern
This position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the successful candidate.
- Minimum: 20 hours per week
- Maximum: 40 hours per week
- Permanent position
- Primarily Monday to Friday
- Working pattern can be discussed at interview
