Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dog Walker to join our pet care team. This role involves providing exceptional walking services for dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety, happiness, and well-being during outings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the physical ability to handle active dogs. Responsibilities
Take dogs on scheduled walks around the local area, ensuring they are safe and well-behaved throughout the outing
Provide basic animal care during walks, including hydration and reassurance as needed
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including handling waste disposal responsibly
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog’s behaviour, health, or special needs. We leave notes after each walk to update our clients.
Follow specific instructions from pet owners regarding individual dogs’ requirements or restrictions
Qualifications
Genuine love for animals with prior experience in animal care or veterinary settings preferred
Strong understanding of dog behaviour and handling techniques
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
Physical fitness to manage active dogs
Reliable transportation to reach different walking locations (own vehicle )
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules based on client needs
This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and have a compassionate approach towards animals. Candidates should be organised, attentive to detail, and committed to providing high-quality care for our furry clients.
Hours - Monday to Fridays between 10:00 and 1430 (although this can be flexible for the right person).
Pay- Pay is fortnightly. This is a self employed position. We try to do a buddy up system and take 2 dogs out at a time, so that you can earn double the walk money in 1 hour. However please note we only do this with dogs that are well matched so there may be occasions where you only have 1 dog at a time.
£11 for an hours walk, £7 for a half hour walk
