Job Overview
We are looking for new Stockroom volunteers to join our team at Oxfam Darlington!
As a Stockroom Volunteer, you will help our friendly shop team by sorting, checking, and making the most of the fantastic variety of donated items in our friendly shop. And if you find a department that particularly appeals to you, such as homewares, books, music & movies, bridal or accessories, we can train you to price, display and cull that department. Best of all you’ll be raising vital funds to support people facing poverty around the world.
Duties
- Sorting and quality checking donations;
- Keeping track of Gift Aid on donated items;
- Hanging & pricing clothing donations,
- Culling & filling the clothing departments
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- have a good eye for spotting imperfections;
- Be reliable and able to work as part of a team;
- Have the ability to work within agreed shop guidelines;
- Be available to work a minimum of one 4 hour shift per week.
We can offer our volunteers valuable work experience in a retail environment, and the opportunity to directly contribute to Oxfam’s mission to achieve a just world without poverty. We can provide references for our team, and we can provide travel costs in accordance with our expenses policy.
