Everkind Haven is a residential childcare provider delivering trauma-informed care within a 3-bed children’s home in central Derby. We support young people aged 11–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), providing a safe, consistent and nurturing environment where young people can feel understood, supported and able to make positive progress.
Our approach is built around consistency, meaningful relationships and high-quality care that genuinely improves outcomes for young people.
We are now looking for an experienced, values-driven Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team and play an important role in leading child-centred practice within the home.
What we offer
- Shift pattern: 2 days on / 4 days off, operating on a 6-week rota
- £15.50 per hour
- Sleep-in rate: £65 per sleep

The role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will help lead the day-to-day care and support provided to young people within the home.
You will:
- Lead shifts and provide guidance and support to Residential Support Workers
- Model high standards of trauma-informed and PACE-based care
- Build strong, trusting and professional relationships with young people
- Support care planning, risk management and behaviour support strategies
- Contribute to a safe, structured and nurturing home environment
- Work closely with management to maintain quality, compliance and positive outcomes
- Act as a role model for professional practice, safeguarding and reflective care

About you
We are looking for someone who is calm, resilient, reliable and genuinely passionate about making a difference.
You will ideally have:
- Desirable: Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, ideally within an EBD setting
- Confidence in leading shifts and supporting staff practice
- A calm, resilient and emotionally intelligent approach
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care
- The ability to work a rota including sleep-ins
- A genuine passion for supporting young people and improving outcomes
