Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, hygiene standards, and cleanliness within the kitchen
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control stock levels to minimise waste
- Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, ensuring creativity and consistency
- Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their culinary skills and team performance
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Maintain a professional and organised work environment at all times
Experience
- Proven experience within a professional kitchen or restaurant environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
- Previous experience working in restaurant or catering establishments is highly desirable
- Excellent understanding of culinary techniques, menu development, and presentation standards
- Experience serving customers directly is advantageous but not essential
