About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our dynamic clinical team. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Working autonomously within your scope of practice, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care while supporting service development and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and long-term conditions.
- Prescribe medications independently in accordance with current legislation and local guidelines.
- Order and interpret diagnostic investigations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans and provide health promotion advice.
- Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and other services.
- Maintain accurate clinical records.
- Participate in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support and mentor nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
- Independent Non-Medical Prescriber qualification.
- Demonstrated competence in autonomous clinical assessment and decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience using electronic patient record systems such as EMIS Web
- Significant post-registration experience in primary care, urgent care, or emergency settings
