We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist with the maintenance, repair, and servicing of machinery and equipment across the facility.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform welding tasks as required, ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Support electrical maintenance activities, including troubleshooting electrical faults and replacing components.
- Conduct mechanical repairs, including replacing parts and maintaining moving components.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation systems.
- Assist with preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime.
- Supervise junior team members or apprentices during specific tasks, providing guidance as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and report on equipment status.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance roles with knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and general repair techniques.
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC programming is essential.
- Welding skills are highly desirable.
- Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge is preferred.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, for clear communication within the team.
- Customer service skills are beneficial when liaising with other departments or external contractors.
