About the Role
We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join our team and support the day-to-day running of our finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their accounting career who is keen to develop their skills and gain practical experience across both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
The role is primarily remote, with occasional visits to the warehouse required, so the successful candidate will need to be comfortable working independently while also being able to collaborate with the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day management of the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
- Post and allocate customer receipts accurately and promptly.
- Post supplier and customer invoices to the accounting system.
- Prepare and send supplier remittances.
- Assist with reconciling customer and supplier accounts.
- Help monitor outstanding invoices and support the follow-up of payments where required.
- Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Support the preparation of regular financial reports and management information for audit purposes
- Assist with general finance administration and filing.
- Work with colleagues across the business to resolve invoice, payment and account queries.
- Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with good attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with figures.
- Reliable and able to manage their workload independently.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel, teams and other computer-based systems.
- A good communicator who is comfortable working remotely.
- Keen to learn and develop a career in accounts and finance.
- Able to work accurately to deadlines.
- Comfortable occasionally visiting the warehouse when required.
Previous accounting experience is desirable but not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a genuine interest in developing their accounting knowledge and can demonstrate good organisation, accuracy and a willingness to learn.
