About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and motivated Residential Child Care Workers to join our dedicated team supporting neurodiverse children and young people within our Kilmarnock home.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality, therapeutic, and person-centred care within a residential setting.
Key Responsibilities
· Build positive, warm, and meaningful relationships with children and young people
· Provide safe, inclusive, and nurturing residential care
· Support young people with daily routines, personal care, education, and activities
· Encourage independence, choice, and participation in decision-making
· Promote healthy routines, boundaries, and positive behaviour
· Contribute to care planning, reviews, and risk assessments
· Maintain accurate records and written reports
· Work collaboratively with families and partner agencies
· Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and children’s rights
· Use de-escalation strategies and approved physical interventions when required
What We Are Looking For
· A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
· A compassionate, respectful, and non-judgemental approach
· Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development
· Commitment to SSSC registration and relevant qualifications (or working towards)
· Experience in residential care or disability support is desirable but not essential
- Full time posts are limited , but we are also looking to expand our group of sessional workers.
