The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, competent and motivated Band 6 Charge Nurse to join our Orthopaedic clinic team. The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care across orthopaedic clinic settings.
You will supervise and support staff, contribute to service improvement, and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse looking to further develop leadership skills within a busy, progressive Orthopaedic service.
You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.

Key responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and act as nurse in charge as required

Ensure delivery of evidence-based, person-centred care

Supervise, support and appraise nursing and support staff

Contribute to rostering, workforce planning and sickness management

Maintain a safe clinical environment, ensuring governance, infection control and risk management standards are met

Lead and support quality improvement and service development initiatives

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient flow and outcomes

Actively participate in audit, education and practice development
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential

Registered Nurse on the NMC Register with experience at band 5

Recent and relevant orthopaedic experience, preferably in casting and splintage techniques

Evidence of continued professional development

Excellent interpersonal skills

Good IT knowledge and skills

Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of a range clinical procedures and practices
