We are seeking a motivated and energetic Ground Worker / Demolition Worker to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing sites for construction, performing demolition tasks safely and efficiently, and assisting with various trades to ensure project success. Your hands-on skills and proactive attitude will contribute to the smooth execution of demolition and groundwork activities, helping us deliver high-quality results on time. Duties
- Assist with site clearance, debris removal, and preparation for new construction or renovation projects
- Perform controlled demolition of structures using hand tools and power tools, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed
- Operate hand tools such as hammers, chisels, shovels, and sledgehammers to dismantle structures or break up concrete and asphalt
- Use power tools including jackhammers, saws, drills, and grinders to facilitate demolition tasks
- Support tradespeople by providing assistance with carpentry, roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, welding, or fabrication tasks as needed
- Help with site safety inspections, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety standards
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of construction sites, including fencing, scaffolding, and material staging
Experience
- Prior experience in construction, demolition, or related manual labor roles is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in demolition and groundwork activities
- Basic understanding of construction trades such as carpentry, roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, welding or fabrication is advantageous
- Ability to follow instructions carefully while maintaining a proactive approach to safety and efficiency
- Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding manual tasks in various weather conditions
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality workmanship
