Working Hours
Summer Hours
- Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Winter Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 3:30pm
Enjoy a 4-day working week during the winter months.
- Approximately 40.75 hours per week

The Role
You will be working as part of our Grounds Maintenance Team, helping to maintain a variety of outdoor spaces throughout Sussex.
Typical duties include:
- Grass cutting and lawn maintenance
- Hedge trimming and pruning
- Border and shrub bed maintenance
- Leaf clearance and litter picking
- Winter gritting and seasonal maintenance
- General site clearance and upkeep
- Soft landscaping works, including turfing and planting
- Safe operation of grounds maintenance machinery, equipment, and vehicles
- Ensuring all sites are left clean, tidy, and presentable
- Following Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Completing work to a high standard and within agreed timescales
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, agriculture, construction, or other outdoor practical roles.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience using horticultural or grounds maintenance machinery
- Experience operating ride-on equipment (preferred)
- Good practical skills and a strong work ethic
- A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
- Good attention to detail
- A full UK driving licence
- Own transport to travel to our yard in Patching, Worthing
Desirable Qualifications
The following would be an advantage but are not essential:
- PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates
- Towing experience
- Plant knowledge and horticultural qualifications
- Experience maintaining commercial grounds and open spaces
