Based at our dedicated cheese packing facility in Minffordd, North Wales, Heler Foods Packing employs over 250 colleagues and supplies major UK and international retailers. Our BRC AA accredited and Red Tractor certified site uses state-of-the-art technology to deliver innovative cheese packing solutions across retail, food manufacturing and contract packing.
We're looking for an experienced Operations Planning Manager to join our team at Heler Foods Packing.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the planning function, influence strategic supply chain decisions and drive operational excellence across purchasing, production planning, inventory management and third-party logistics.
In this role, you will:

Lead all planning activities across the site, ensuring efficient production scheduling and material availability.

Develop and implement best-in-class Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes, reducing reliance on spreadsheets and manual systems.

Drive Just-in-Time (JiT) inventory management to optimise stock levels while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Manage supplier relationships, procurement activities and third-party logistics providers to improve performance and reduce costs.

Lead a team of three direct reports while working collaboratively across Operations, Commercial and Supply Chain functions to deliver business objectives.

You'll bring:

Significant experience in production planning, supply chain or operations planning within a manufacturing or food production environment.

Strong procurement, purchasing and inventory management experience.

Excellent analytical skills with advanced Excel capability and experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or Sage.

Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience of developing, motivating and leading high-performing teams.

Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the confidence and credibility to present operational performance, strategic proposals and business updates to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders.

Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build strong working relationships across all levels of the business.

A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to challenge existing processes and drive positive change.
